The board of Vienna Section consists of respected researchers, artists, and educators that come from different age groups and backgrounds and help to achieve the diversity that the section aims for.


PRESIDENT – ROSE BREUSS

Austrian Choreographer, director and Professor for Movement Research
Rose Breuss studied at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, Theaterschool Amsterdam, Temple University Philadelphia USA and University of Surrey, Labanotation Institute.
Since 2006 she is the Director of IDA – Institute of Dance Arts and Professor für Movement Research at Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität/ABPU in Linz/Austria.
She choreographed and directed numerous pieces of the Dancecompany Choreographia[Inter]Austriaca for international and national Dance- Music- and Cultural Festivals and Institutions: e.g. Tanzquartier Wien, Odeon Wien, Festwochen Gmunden, Bregenzer Festspiele, Wien Modern, Brucknerhaus Linz, Sophiensäle Berlin, Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, DANCE München, International Dance Summit Berlin, Philharmonie Luxemburg, Austrian Cultural Forums.

THE BOARD


Andressa Miyazato

is a Brazilian choreographer, Dancer, and dance researcher with an established career in Europe, where she has lived since 2007. After 7-years with the Cisne Negro Dance Company in São Paulo, Brazil, Andressa performed as a principal dancer in repertoires of European companies such as Staatstheater Darmstadt, Germany, and Landestheater Linz, Austria. She toured through South America, Cuba, the USA, South Africa, Mozambique, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Czech Republic, and Taiwan. In 2013, Andressa Miyazato was nominated as
“Hoffnungsträgerin” (transl. “Bearer of Hope”) in the Tanz Jahrbuch, followed by a nomination in the category Dancer of the Year 2017 by Marieluise Jeitschko on the renowned platform tanznetz.de, and was awarded the Dancer of the Year Award by “Freunde des Linzer
Musiktheater.” In recent years, and parallel to her work as a performer, she has devoted her time to choreographic research, delving into dance pedagogy for her master’s degree at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. As a choreographer, she has an expressive eye for narratives directed towards the transformative power of art enriched by intercultural dialogues, which has driven artistic collaborations worldwide, such as “Fleurs du Crépuscule” in December 2019. It was a collaboration with the renowned French composer Jean-Jacques Lemêtre (Theatre du Soleil), performer Guqin Li-Yu You, and students from the National Taiwan University of the Arts Taipei.

Damián Cortés Alberti

studied dance at the Universidad Nacional del Arte (UNA) at the dance school Arte XXI and at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. Also, he studied Theatre at the Univercidad Nacional de Cordoba (U.N.C), and violin in the
Suzuki Method Cordoba. In 2005-2007 he joined the Contemporary Ballet of the San Martín Theatre, Buenos Aires. After moving to Europe in 2008 he developed an intense career as a dancer in the companies Art Transit Dansa, Barcelona; the ensemble of the Staatstheater Darmstadt, Germany and later the Landestheater Linz, Austria. Actively involved since 2016 as a
freelance dancer, choreographer, and teacher in different productions in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Belgium, Macedonia, and South Korea, he continues his research in the field of art by doing a Doctorate in Arts at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz. From this same institution, he graduated in 2019 acquiring the academic degree of Master of Arts, Dance Education.

Maria Shurkhal

was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. She started her professional education at the Serge Lifar Kyiv Municipal Ukrainian Academy of Dance and continued at the Anton Bruckner University, Linz. Now she lives and works in Austria as a freelance dancer, choreographer, and pedagog, collaborating with such artists and institutions as Rose Breuss, Cie Off. Verticality, PUC collective, the National Austrian team of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW, MDW among others

Johannes Randolf

erhielt seine Tanzausbildung an der Tanzakademie in Rotterdam. Er tanzte im IN-und Ausland u.a. bei tolada dance company (D/ISR) Cie. Tanzfabrik berlin (D) Cie. Bruno Genty (F) Cia. Vicente Saez (E) Ballet Linz Chor. Robert Poole. Er war art. Co director des CCL-choreographiccentrelinz und der post graduate dance company x.IDA Johannes unterrichtet seit 1998 an am IDA – Institut for Dance Arts zeitgenössischen Tanz und damit verbundene Fächer wie Composition, Repertoire. Zusammen mit Frau Prof. Rose Breuss-Bochdansky leitet der die Tanzcompany C.O.V. – Company Off Verticality.Johannes unterrichtet zahlreiche Workshops im In und Ausland und ist Gastlehrer u.a. an der Tanzakademie Rotterdam (NL) und der University of Calgary (CA) Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Lehrer am IDA leitet er eine Praxis für Physiotherapie, ist Autor von zwei Büchern (Erfolgreich gesund – der Körperlogik auf der Spur“ und „Crawling-Fitness“) und Autor von verschiedensten Artikeln in Fachmagazinen.
